Who We Are

The concept of Global Link Afrika

Background: We trace our history to the experience of the founder members as they served as students’ workers with the FOCUS Uganda, (the IFES movement in Uganda). As students’ staff workers; the team challenged students and graduates to consider involvement in missions, servant leadership and to champion the cause of social transformation in the needy and unreached communities. Many students and young graduates consistently showed interest and felt the call to commit to short term and sometimes even long term missions endeavour. However, there was no organised way then of tapping and channelling such potential and the mission force for global missions. It was painful and indeed frustrating to watch such potential and mission force get swallowed up by the pressures and/or pursuit of life and its pleasures.

The lack of an organised mechanism of tapping into this missions potential, created the burden and indeed a wish for a ministry that serves to bridge the gap between profession, potential, gifting, skills, callings and global mission opportunities. This state of affairs is what led the founder members to the formation of GLA in 2012 in Uganda as an indigenous faith based mission agency to mobilize and send African missionaries for global missions.

Global Link Afrika (GLA):  is a non-profit Faith based mission agency operating in Uganda with the mandate of mobilizing and networking the Church in Africa for effective involvement in global missions. GLA serves this purpose in partnership with evangelical Churches, ministries and organizations in Africa and beyond through mission trainings and mission placement opportunities. In doing this, the ministry of GLA serves to facilitate the Church in fulfilling her mandate by bridging the gap between skills, gifts, passions, and callings and the various mission opportunities in global missions hence facilitating the sending and receiving of gospel missionaries within the Church of Christ.

Legal status: GLA is registered in Uganda as a company limited by guarantee with the registration number: 162245 and with the NGO Board of Uganda as a Faith Based organization with the registration number: S.5196/13150.
